Its development team is widely regarded among the most thorough in the industry, and they work around the clock to evaluate opportunities in diverse markets to determine where, how, and when B&B Theatres might be able to expand to bring the magic of the movies to more guests across the country.

GRAND ISLAND, NE – B&B is returning to the Cornhusker State! A large-scale remodel will bring seven revitalized big-screen auditoriums to the community, complete with heated recliners, a massive arcade, food and beverage options including a full restaurant and bar, and a few more major surprises that are guaranteed to delight our guests!
AMERICAN DREAM, EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – Early 2026 – A huge commercial powerhouse deserves an entertainment center to match, and B&B is stepping up to the plate! The ‘sister’ center of the Mall of America, American Dream is a mere ten miles from Manhattan. Once complete, the facility will boast two Grand Screens, a screenPLAY!, a Lyric, a Max Relax, and a bevy of other standard non-theatrical B&B amenities which are still being determined. The facility will match the size and scope of the American Dream mentality, bringing excess, excitement, and scale to movie lovers!
WARRENSBURG, MO – It’s always a joy to expand a regional footprint, and Warrensburg is right in our backyard! Located roughly 60 miles from the B& Theatres Liberty HQ, Warrensburg, Missouri is our kind of town! The remodeled cinema facility is set to reopen in March of 2025 and will feature two PLF Grand Screens, heated recliners, a Marquee Bar & Grille, and a Food-to-Go expanded menu.
JOPLIN, MO – B&B has announced plans for a ground-up 8-screen entertainment complex in Joplin, a strong and growing community in southwest Missouri. In addition to cutting edge theatrical presentation, the facility will feature signature B&B amenities such as the Marquee Bar & Grille, Outtakes Arcade, and outdoor lawn games and a huge patio! Construction and opening dates are not yet finalized, but the company is thrilled to expand its regional presence in the area and bring the magic of the movies to Joplin!
MANASSAS PARK, VA - Fall 26 – A ground up new build in the Mother of States, B&B will open in Manassas Park, an exurb of DC, in late 2026. The lease is official and details are continuing to be fleshed out, but we can confirm 8 screens, including a PLF Grand Screen, all heated recliners, and the absolute best of B&B as installed, tried, and tested across the circuit.
Company History
B&B Theatres has been family owned and operated since 1924 when Elmer Bills Sr. opened a movie house in Salisbury, Missouri where the future Mrs. Bills played the piano for silent movies. During the company’s 100 years, and four generations of family involvement, it has seen the coming of sound, color, Technicolor, stadium seating, multiplexes, recliners and digital cinema. B&B continues to lead the industry in innovative and progressive cinema.
CURRENT OPERATIONS
B&B Theatres is the 5th largest theatre chain in America and (including three locations under construction) operates 554 screens at 58 cinema locations in 16 states. B&B also operates 86 bowling lanes, 385 redemption arcade games, and three distinct restaurant brands across multiple locations: the Marquee Bar & Grille, Sterling’s, and Johnnie’s Jazz Bar & Grille. In 2024, B&B is proud to be celebrating 100 years in business under the same family ownership, now in its fourth generation.
